Dr. V. Dhayalan

Dr. Vasudevan Dhayalan obtained his MSc in Organic Chemistry (2005) and his PhD in Organic Chemistry (2011) at the University of Madras, India. He then joined the group of Prof. Masahiko Hayashi at the Kobe University (Kobe, Japan) as a postdoctoral researcher (2011-2012). Later, he worked with Prof. Paul Knochel at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (Munich, Germany) for 3 years (2013-2015). In the year of 2016, he joined the group of Prof. Anat Milo at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer Sheva, Israel) with PBC outstanding postdoctoral research fellowship (2016-2020). Currently, he is working as DST-SERB-Ramanujan Faculty at the National Institute of Technology Puducherry (Karaikal, India) supported by the Ramanujan fellowship (2020-2025). Recently, he was awarded with a prestigious Ramanujan fellowship and Core-Research Grant (CRG) from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India. His OMC research projects focused on the design and synthesis of drugs and natural products via organocatalysis and organo-Li, Mg, Zn-mediated cross-coupling reactions enabled by transition metals. He has published 79 research articles in reputed international journals till now (March 2024).
