Project:  Metal-Free Efficient Synthesis Of Cyclic Thiocarbonates From Aromatic Aldehydes Through NHC Catalysis

Published article: 0

“I, Gangi Raju, have successfully completed my project on N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysis in the OMC group. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in multistep synthesis under inert atmosphere and developed skills in techniques such as NMR, IR, and TLC. I also deepened my understanding of NHC catalysis and reaction mechanisms. I sincerely thank my guide for their constant support and valuable guidance. This project has strengthened my interest in organic chemistry, and I am eager to continue research in this field.

Mr. Vishnu Vardhan M

M.Sc. Student, Dec 2024 to May 2025

Project: “Efficient NHC Catalysed One-Pot conversion of Aldehydes into Benzil”.

Published article: 0

Profile: I completed my bachelor’s degree from Adikavi Nannaya University. The undergraduate studies provided a solid foundation in organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, along with hands-on experience in laboratory research. Driven by curiosity and a desire to specialize further, I have pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry from NITPY, delving deeper into advanced topics such as Organic chemistry, Quantum and spectroscopy, and Chemical synthesis. This phase of my education allowed me to engage in innovative research. I am curious and passionate about sharing my knowledge as well as improving myself more in the field and establishing an interest on chemistry in many more young minds.

Mr. Mahantesh, G
MS Student: Dec. 2023 to May 2024
Project: Hydrobenzoin NHC-Catalysis
Published article: 3

Profile:

My name is Mahantesh, I consider myself a enthusiastic researcher in NHC-organocatalysis. From rural area of Karnataka to NIT Puducherry I came long way. I gain lot of chemistry knowledge from NITPy especially during my project time ingain lot practical knowledge of chemistry this all because of support I got from Team OMC. I'm not good researcher but in earlier but after entering to OMC group my research knowledge has been immensely increased. I contributed small drop of water to NHC organocatalysis in future I will try my best to contribute more in chemistry research field.
